How do you and Christopher Hitches define religion? Religion has many different meanings. The most common of which is a set of beliefs in a particular subject, not necessarily a belief in a deity. In this way Athiesm can also be considered a religion. Religion is too broad. Does he explain this in his book? I haven’t read it, I just had this question..

I don’t remember a specific definition, but Hitchens seems to define religion as an irrational and false belief. As for me I discuss this issue in depth in Chapter 1 of my book Christianity and Secularism.
